User-generated content is a way to connect with potential customers through the content created by regular customers. Encouraging loyal customers to share their authentic experiences with your brand and sharing those snippets to bring potential people closer to your services is how it works.

Food being the soul of life, most people love to see & know about new places & new food to try. When this new suggestion comes from a fellow consumer, it builds credibility & trust.

Here are a few catches on how you can encourage customers to create user-generated content:

1. It Starts with ‘S’

Social media is honey for all human bees, so here it starts. It is a great place to connect with the audience, as this is where people know about what’s trending!

Run a social media contest with a tempting reward. You can ask your customers to share their favorite “Recipe of the Restaurant” in their Instagram stories, ask them to tag their buddies with whom they would like to taste it, and win a chance to FREE dining for 2-3 people.

It will promote your recipes as well as reach more people through tags. You can run such competitions and encourage customer to participate.

2. Take a #NoHushHashtag Idea

Raise the buzz by creating branded hashtags, and encourage your customers to use them when they dine in and post pictures at your restaurant. 

Reward your top-performing photos, videos, and captions with complimentary side dishes. Or, engage your customers in a contest where the winner gets their name assigned to one of your dining tables. So it will no longer be Table No. 7 but maybe Table Ria or Table Zen.

So the next time they come, they would be happy to have a small place named after them.

Take some fun ways to encourage potential customers and make them feel valued.

3. Remember the Reviews

Ask your customer to drop reviews on Google, Yelp, TripAdvisor, and potential platforms. Positive reviews generate social proof and bring higher search engine rankings and visibility. 

You can always be creative about the rewards for positive reviews, maybe with a free cookie the next time the customer visits you or a voucher.

Paint your social media with all the faces that visit you and love your place. You can also share their critical feedback and showcase how you implemented the change for the better. 

It shows your inclusiveness and encourages people to connect with you.

For more user-generated ideas, ask your customers about things they would like to do, maybe hosting an event or any particular contest they would love to have.
